Elaine Jeter 2

Elaine Jeter,
M.D.

Medical Director

Prior to joining Aegis as Medical Director, Dr. Jeter was the Senior Medical Director at Palmetto GBA, a Medicare Administrative Contractor that administers Medicare health insurance for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) throughout the U.S. At Palmetto GBA, Dr. Jeter developed and directed the MolDX program, which was created to uniquely identify laboratory tests, primarily sole-source and molecular tests, and to determine the clinical value of a test by way of a technical assessment. The assessments were subsequently developed into Medicare local coverage decision policies. In the field of toxicology, her “Controlled Substance Monitoring and Drugs of Abuse Testing” coverage policy has largely become the model across the country for providers and payers alike.

Dr. Jeter has practiced surgical pathology and directed clinical laboratories in academia and the private practice. She completed her medical school and residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. She is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with sub-specialty boards in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine.

Dr. Mina

Michael Mina,
M.D., Ph.D.

Michael Mina, M.D., Ph.D. is an epidemiologist, immunologist and physician. He is a leading global expert in testing for pandemic and outbreak response, including surveillance and medical diagnostic testing. He routinely advises the US federal government, including leaders within the White House, CDC, FDA and NIH as well as national and international corporations.

He was formerly an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Immunology at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health and an Associate Medical Director in Clinical Microbiology in the Department of Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He led the Broad Institute COVID-19 testing platform that provided results for nearly 30 million PCR tests. His research and expertise, particularly around the use of testing, has informed national policies in the US and globally.

Lucas Marshall,
MS

Director, Research and Development

Lucas Marshall has been a member of the Aegis team since 2008. He currently serves as the Director of Research and Development. The R&D group is responsible for developing and implementing new or improved assays for the laboratory, as well as evaluating new technologies and other innovation to improve quality and efficiency of the analytical process. During his tenure at Aegis, he has contributed to several research articles and presentations, many of which have focused on the detection of Novel Psychoactive Substances (NPS).

Lucas earned his Bachelor of Science in Forensic Chemistry from the University of Mississippi, followed by his Master of Science in Forensic Chemistry from Michigan State University. He has previously been a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the International Society for the Study of Emerging Drugs, the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, and the American Chemical Society.

David M. Schwope, Ph.D.
Senior Manager, Research Scientists

Dr. Schwope is a Senior Manager within the Research and Development Team. His specific research interests include implementation of novel technologies to enable accurate clinical and forensic laboratory testing at scale. Prior to joining Aegis, Dr. Schwope’s professional positions include service for the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIH/NIDA/IRP) Chemistry and Drug Metabolism Section and University of Illinois at Chicago, Animal Forensic Toxicology Laboratory.

Dr. Schwope obtained a Ph.D. in toxicology from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science in forensic science from the University of Illinois, and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Miami University. He has contributed to more than 20 research articles focusing on human cannabinoid pharmacology and urine drug testing.

Josh Schrecker

Joshua Schrecker,
Pharm.D.

Dr. Schrecker completed his pre-professional curriculum at the University of Tennessee and received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. Prior to Aegis, Dr. Schrecker completed an American Society of Health System Pharmacists-accredited Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency at Hospital Corporation of America. During his time as a pharmacy resident, Dr. Schrecker focused on both evolving as a clinical pharmacist as well as developing leadership skills within a corporate environment. He also received certifications through completion of advanced cardiac life support courses and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s Teaching and Learning Program.

Currently, Dr. Schrecker holds memberships in the Tennessee Pharmacists Association, the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, and is a board member of the Nashville Area Pharmacists Association.

Melinda Shelby,
Ph.D.

Dr. Shelby is responsible for reviewing and interpreting test results, daily workflow management, team member management, analytical method development, validation, and troubleshooting for Aegis Sports Testing Services. Previously, Dr. Shelby was a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Associate Toxicologist at The Sports Medicine Research & Testing Lab in Salt Lake City; one of only two labs in the U.S. accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). She earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of Missouri in Kansas City and a Ph.D. in toxicology from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS.

Savannah Clary,
Pharm.D., BCPS

Dr. Savannah Clary completed her pre-professional curriculum at the University of Kentucky and received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy where she received the Eli Lilly Achievement Award for excellence in primary care and chronic disease state management. She also completed a PGY1 Community Pharmacy Practice residency at Marcrom’s Pharmacy in Manchester, Tennessee. Dr. Clary went on to complete a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Health Care Informatics at Lipscomb University. She has completed the Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy Teaching and Learning Program and obtained certifications in immunization, medication therapy management, and diabetes.

Before joining Aegis, Dr. Clary worked as a clinical pharmacist specializing in nephrology and the pharmaceutical care of dialysis patients. She is a member of the American Pharmacists Association, the Tennessee Pharmacists Association, the Nashville Area Pharmacists Association and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Dr. Clary currently holds pharmacist licenses in Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, Texas, and West Virginia.

Kristin Hillman, Pharm.D.

Dr. Kristin Hillman completed her pre-professional curriculum at Auburn University and received her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology. Dr. Hillman earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy. She went on to complete an American Society of Health System Pharmacists-accredited Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency at Huntsville Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center. During her time as a pharmacy resident, her research was awarded the Best Resident and Fellow Poster at the Global Conference on Clinical Pharmacy for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
Before joining Aegis, Dr. Hillman worked as a clinical pharmacist at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN in the medical surgical step-down unit and in the main pharmacy. Dr. Hillman also attained her certifications in the APA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Dr. Hillman is a member of Phi Lambda Sigma.

Katie Liveoak,
Pharm.D., BCPP

Dr. Katie Liveoak completed her pre-professional curriculum and received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Auburn University. She also completed a post-graduate psychiatry specialty residency at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Liveoak went on to obtain her board certification as a psychiatric clinical pharmacist (BCPP). She has completed the University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s Teaching and Learning Programs and serves as an affiliated assistant professor at several schools of pharmacy in Tennessee. Dr. Liveoak is skilled in quality improvement and quality management within specialty pharmacy and inpatient behavioral health accreditations. She is a local, regional, national, and international speaker on psychopharmacology and behavioral health related topics. She holds certifications for the Institutional Review Board, BCPP, suicide prevention training, American Red Cross advanced life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS) as well as the Tennessee Department of Health naloxone training.

Before joining Aegis, Dr. Liveoak worked as a clinical pharmacist specializing in inpatient psychiatry. She served as the pharmacy post graduate year 2 (PGY2) psychiatry residency program director for Hospital Corporation of American for 8 years. She volunteers for the National Alliance of Mental Illness and Alzheimer’s Association of Middle Tennessee. She is a professional member of America Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists, Tennessee Pharmacist Association, and Board Pharmaceutical Specialties. Dr. Liveoak currently holds pharmacist licenses in Tennessee and Alabama.

Hope Randle,
Pharm.D., BCPS, BCPP

Dr. Hope Randle completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Mississippi State University and received her Doctor of Pharmacy from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She went on to complete residency programs at The University of Texas and The University of North Carolina. After completing her second year of residency, Dr. Randle moved to Tacoma,WA to work at a state psychiatric facility. In 2022, she returned to middle Tennessee where she worked as a clinical pharmacist in an inpatient psychiatric unit. Dr. Randle has board certifications in clinical pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and psychiatric clinical pharmacy (BCPP). She has precepted both pharmacy students and residents and served as a mentor for a variety of projects.

Zachary Fricker,
Pharm.D.

Clinical Pharmacist Fellow

Dr. Fricker completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree (2023) at Belmont University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, TN. He discovered his passion for drug information and teaching during his APPEs where he presented lectures and facilitated learning activities to pharmacy students at Belmont. He further developed his passion at HealthTrust where he conducted monograph revisions and analyzed literature to answer drug info questions.

Dr. Fricker currently serves as the Clinical Pharmacist Fellow in Drug Information with Belmont University, Aegis Sciences Corporation and the FDA. He will be teaching in PHM6315 Biomedical Literature Evaluation for Pharmacy in the fall and PHM6165 Health Assessment in the spring. Dr. Fricker will also respond to drug information questions for the Christy Houston Foundation Drug Information Center and Aegis Sciences Corporation while precepting P4 pharmacy students.
